Robert A. Sanders

Attorney Biography

Robert A. Sanders is Of Counsel in the Los Angeles office of Sinnott, Puebla, Campagne & Curet, APLC.  Mr. Sanders represents insurers in complex insurance coverage and bad faith litigation brought in state and federal courts by direct insureds, third parties, and other insurers.  He is experienced in all aspects of litigation, including trial preparation, oral argument, drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and written discovery, document review and production, e-Discovery, taking and defending depositions, and attending mediations.  Mr. Sanders also provides claims counseling and coverage advice to insurers concerning construction defect, pollution, product liability, intellectual property, medical malpractice, and employment-related claims received nationwide under general liability, excess, medical malpractice, and employment liability policies.

Mr. Sanders also has experience representing and counseling insurers in coverage disputes involving primary and excess directors and officers liability insurance and professional liability insurance, and representing management in employment discrimination and wrongful termination litigation.  Prior to joining the firm in 2003, Mr. Sanders was an associate in a mid-size plaintiff’s firm where he handled all aspects of litigation involving personal injury, product liability, toxic tort, employment, and medical malpractice.

Mr. Sanders received his B.A. in History from California State University, Long Beach, where he graduated cum laude in 1996.  He received his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law in 2000, where he was an editor of the Southwestern University Law Review and a member of the Southwestern Moot Court Honors Program.  Mr. Sanders published an article entitled “The Second Circuit Exempts Music Publishers from the Benefits of the Derivative Works Exception: Fred Ahlert Music Corp. v. Warner/Chappell Music Publishing, Inc.” in 2000, and co-authored Lorman Seminar Materials entitled “Understanding the Current CGL Policy” in April 2006.

Mr. Sanders is a member of the California State Bar and the Ohio State Bar, and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
