Winnie C. Louie
Attorney Biography
Winnie Louie began working for Sinnott, Puebla, Campagne & Curet, APLC shortly before her admission to the California State Bar in 1994. Ms. Louie has worked on insurance coverage matters in a wide variety of contexts, including environmental, toxic tort, construction defects, products liability, and medical malpractice.
Ms. Louie specializes in the analysis and litigation of novel insurance coverage issues, including allocation, contribution and other concerns that arise among multiple insurers and with additional insureds. For example, her pivotal work on a motion for summary judgment on the applicability of the “no voluntary payment” policy provision in the case captioned Turner Construction Company v. Zurich Insurance Company, Case No. 04-56918 (District Court Case No. CV-02-01149 VAP) recently resulted in an affirmation of no coverage by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeal. Ms. Louie’s practice also includes employment, general business litigation and appellate work.
Ms. Louie’s litigation experience is varied, from single-site lawsuits with only two parties to cases with over one hundred sites/claims and multiple parties. Having begun her practice in complex multi-defendant third-party environmental coverage litigation, Ms. Louie has extensive experience in coordinating joint insurer efforts with voluminous written discovery, depositions, document review and trial management.
Ms. Louie earned her B.A., cum laude, from Harvard-Radcliffe Colleges in 1987, and received her J.D. and M.A. in Urban Planning from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1994. Ms. Louie is dedicated to providing her clients with effective, efficient and responsive legal services.
